Blogging from the Library!
This is the start of a blog for our school library. It is designed for the discussion of any great books you have read, or any events that might come along for those interested in reading and writing!
Let’s get things started! Have you read any great books lately? Would love to hear about them…

The Title ‘A spectators guide to Jesus’ by John Dickson is an enlightening read. The personal style of writing makes the text very accessible.
Dickson’s links between the Old and New Testaments bring an interesting way of reading the Bible and an interesting insight into the life of Christ.

Female students from year 11 at my school are really enjoying Jodie Piccoult’s books. My Sister’s Keeper in particular has been a real hit (did it make you cry too?)
Once a group of students gets into an author like these girls have it becomes very easy to recommend other titles or authors.
I would love to find a similar response that might work with older boys.

Yes, it’s great to stumble upon an author who not only writes prolifically, but one who is able to really get you involved.
The last book I remember that made me cry before this was ‘The Running Man’ by Michael Gerard Bauer – last year’s CBCA Young Adult winner.
Many of our students are currently enjoying many of Dee Henderson’s books – like ‘Dangers in the Shadows’ and ‘the Negotiator’. You might even find these attractive to boys as they involve things like forensic science. law and paramedical work!
